Sporting goods giant Reebok has revealed a new electric bike line licensed to and built alongside manufacturer Asia Kingston, many of which were present at the recent CES show.
Designed in Europe, the Reebok electric bikes will span the electric mountain bike, commuter and leisure segments, with an accessories ranging inclusive of helmets also to be sold. It’s said that the manufacturer has a five-year licence on the brand’s rights.
A flagship of the range will be a carbon fibre full suspension build, sold under the RK-PRO 29 banner and based around a Mivice X700 mid-motor capable of delivering a 100Nm torque. This motor is to be fed by a 630Wh Samsung battery which should be good for an entire day out in the hills. As for the non-electric components, a 12-speed Shimano drivetrain, Suntour’s 150mm X3 boost Air fork, a KS-AXRE shock and Schwalbe tyres feature on 29-inch wheels.
On the more quirky side is a 20-inch wheeled, folding full suspension bike with large beach ready fat tyres dubbed the RK-FUN.
Asia Kingston is the Hong Kong-based manufacturer of e-bikes bearing the branding of Maserati, Jeep and Kawasaki, among others. Some of these have come and gone from the market.
It is expected that the Reebok electric bike goods will debut in the North and South American marketplaces, the manufacturer stating ‘The American market really values these cool and popular brands in this category. We expect to expand our business through this market in 2024 and the years to come.’ That said, sales in Europe will begin with a partnership with Elektro Mobile Deutschland, which also sells Jeep e-bikes, among other e-mobility goods.
The licensed products will cover all of e-Mobility, with the manufacturer producing branded electric scooters, mountain bikes, folding bikes and more. Alongside these goods, the manufacturer produces solar and gaming goods.
